  • Putting a Check on weight loss expenditure
    Sunday, Nov. 5th 2006 3:15 AM

If you are a regular reader about the news of weight loss, you might be already knowing that the weight loss costs are soaring in the country. The irony of the situations is that people are desperate to try out any weight loss program without analyzing the effectiveness of that program. There are hundreds of crash weight loss programs that claim their effectiveness, and people in their haste, waste their money and time–weight lost by these crash courses return soon after the course is completed.

In a very recent survey by Obesity Society, it has been found that around 60% people believe that the weight loss supplements that are sold in the market are tested and have a proven record of effectiveness. More than 50% people believe that these weight loss products are reviewed and approved by FDA. This is a total misconception that adds to the problem. There is no prevailing rule that weight loss supplements and products should be tested before selling; and therefore, you can’t buy or try any product due to your own misconception that it is tested and approved by FDA.

Specialists and researchers are analyzing the situation of obese people and the statistics are alarming–around two-third of Americans are obese. No wonder that this is a critical situation where expenditure on weight loss program is increasing and people are growing desperate. Children face maximum problems in being obese, as they also have to face psychological and social problems. It should be clearly understood that weight loss programs can’t work for you until you yourself are determined to shed extra pounds. So, analyze the procedure of weight loss programs before you choose to buy it, and match it with your life style. If you think that you will be able to move along its recommendations, you can buy it; otherwise, you should choose some other weight loss program.
